On Saturday, March 6, the Council gathered together to pack 30 food boxes for Contra Costa Interfaith Coalition. These boxes will be used to support local families who struggle to have enough food. In the past this has been a church-wide service project, but due to the ongoing threat of COVID, the congregation was asked to support this ministry through financial donations only.
The Contra Costa Interfaith Coalition is a network of local church working together to serve and care for low income and homeless families in our county. Although the bulk of the support that we typically offer them as a church is in the form of food boxes, CCIC does accept donations of clothing, furniture, and various home goods. They also pick-up, if you are unable to deliver donated items to them yourself!
To assist us packing food boxes, the Deacons have been seeking to raise up to $1,000. Although boxes were packed this past week, we are still in need of about $500 to hit this goal. To donate to this ministry, you can mail a designated check to the church.
Thank-you to our Deacons for continuing to lead and encourage each of us in the area of service and stewardship! And thank-you to our Council members, Eunice (seminary intern), and various members of their families who helped pack!
