Exodus: A Story of Redemption

Exodus is the story of God freeing enslaved people and forming them into his own. Although the story is told through the experiences of ancient Israel, it's the story of everyone who has experienced freedom by the good news of Jesus' death and resurrection.  In this series, we explore God's work in the delivering us from bondage to sin and death, and the many ways he continues to shape and mold us into his people.

Sabbath: a Divine Alternative

At creation, God established a sacred rhythm for his image bearers.  This sacred rhythm of work and rest offers a divine alternative to the non-stop, never-resting demands of the world we live in.  Instead, we are called to live a life of protest as we adopt God's sacred rhythm for ourselves, embracing the grace of rest and restoration and declaring our allegiance to our sabbath-keeping God.

Advent Conspiracy

Christmas is full of expectations and obligations that often make it difficult to keep Jesus at the center of the season.  There's a voice inside of each of us that causes us to buy presents for people we don't really know, or attend parties we'd prefer to skip.  The Gospels give a us picture of how the first people to meet Jesus celebrated his birth, and established a pattern for us to follow today through four key practices: Worship Fully, Spend Less, Give More, and Love All.

Jesus Uncensored: Unfiltered Teachings from the Mountain

The Sermon on the Mount is one of the most revolutionary and world-changing events in the history of the world.  Even staunch critics of organized religion admire Jesus' message, teachings, and vision presents in Matthew 5-7.  For disciples of Jesus, this is the most concise definition of what it looks like to live all of life as a citizen of God's kingdom on earth.

Lectionary Psalms: A SUmmer Sermon Series

The book of Psalms is a collection of prayers, songs, and wisdom used heavily by God's people in both personal and corporate worship.  These timeless words are often used to express thoughts and emotions that we find difficult to put into words.  They also demonstrate God's compassion and love for the world - a great source of comfort and conviction.  This series follows the assigned Psalm readings from the Revised Common Lectionary for Summer, 2017.
